As a Chinese film enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for great movies to watch. While I enjoy watching films in their original language, there are times when I prefer to watch them with English dubbing. This allows me to fully immerse myself in the story and appreciate the performances of the actors without having to constantly read subtitles.

Over the years, I've watched a lot of English-dubbed Chinese movies, and I've found that some are much better than others. Here are some of my top picks:

Hero (2002)

Directed by Zhang Yimou, Hero is a visually stunning martial arts epic set in the Warring States period of Chinese history. The film follows the story of Nameless (Jet Li), a government assassin who is sent to assassinate the King of Qin (Chen Daoming). However, as Nameless gets closer to the king, he begins to question his mission and the true nature of heroism.

Hero is a beautifully shot film with stunning fight sequences. The performances are also excellent, with Jet Li and Chen Daoming delivering standout performances. The English dubbing is also very well done, and it does not detract from the film's overall quality.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)

Another classic Chinese film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a wuxia epic directed by Ang Lee. The film follows the story of Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun-fat), a legendary swordsman who is retiring from the江湖 (jianghu, or martial arts world). However, when his prized sword, the Green Destiny, is stolen, Li Mu Bai sets out to retrieve it, accompanied by his friend and fellow swordsman, Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh).

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a beautifully choreographed film with stunning visuals and exciting fight sequences. The performances are also excellent, with Chow Yun-fat and Michelle Yeoh delivering standout performances. The English dubbing is also very well done, and it does not detract from the film's overall quality.

Shaolin Soccer (2001)

Directed by Stephen Chow, Shaolin Soccer is a hilarious sports comedy about a group of Shaolin monks who form a soccer team to raise money to save their temple. The film stars Stephen Chow as Sing, a former Shaolin monk who is recruited by Golden Leg Fung (Ng Man-tat), a former soccer star who is now a coach.

Shaolin Soccer is a fun and lighthearted film with plenty of laughs. The film also features some impressive soccer sequences, and the performances are all excellent. The English dubbing is also very well done, and it does not detract from the film's overall quality.

Infernal Affairs (2002)

Directed by Andrew Lau and Alan Mak, Infernal Affairs is a crime thriller about a police officer who goes undercover in a triad gang and a triad member who goes undercover in the police force. The film stars Andy Lau as Lau Kin-ming, the police officer, and Tony Leung as Chan Wing-yan, the triad member.

Infernal Affairs is a gripping and suspenseful film with excellent performances from Andy Lau and Tony Leung. The film also features a well-written script and a well-executed plot. The English dubbing is also very well done, and it does not detract from the film's overall quality.

The Grandmaster (2013)

Directed by Wong Kar-wai, The Grandmaster is a martial arts epic about the life of Ip Man, the grandmaster of Wing Chun. The film stars Tony Leung as Ip Man and Zhang Ziyi as Gong Er, Ip Man's love interest and fellow martial artist.
